Blushing Baby

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Our hibiscus continue to bloom like crazy. They really seem to enjoy the moderate temperatures. Spotted this fresh bloom as it was opening and liked the pastels and just the hint of backlighting. >=))>

Specific Feedback

I decided to leave the partial leaves to fill up some of the negative space and also used a polarizer to take some of the sheen off the leaves, something I often neglect to do. Fortunately it was pretty still so I could stop down for optimal DOF and since the BG (our front yard) was pretty far away it showed little detail.

Nicely done, Bill. I can’t think of a thing I’d change on this one.

Really makes me wish I were in warmer clime. Terrific capture of the hues of the petals. I wondered if color of the LL leaf could be shifted or de-hazed to be closer to the sepals.
