Bobcat in the grass

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

We spent all day looking for Bobcats and finally found one. The grass was very tall so they were difficult to find. Light was harsh but had no choice. The cat was at least 100 ft away so had to crop image somewhat.

Technical Details

Sony A1 with 200-600 mm lens, f8 at 1/2500 sec

They are so hard to find and photograph once the grasses get this tall! This one looks like it might have just stood up or is just partway standing up? I find I wish it was not dropping down on the back haunches, as that often indicates it’s doing its business. ;0 I like the gesture of the mouth/face, and the way the light accents the whiskers. The yellow flowers around it also add a nice environment.

Great subject but it lacks the fine details. I suspect the noise reduction could be the culprit or is it a big crop?
I may crop out some foreground and go for rectangular crop, as I find BG yellow flowers more interesting.
