Description
Lac LeJeune, BC -
2 day-old chickies from a couple years ago. I’m hoping to go back next month.
Unfortunately, (?) there are several pairs of bald eagles here, and many of the loon chicks do not survive. I guess the young of some feed the young of others, but still tough to see.
I was hanging off the front of the small boat to get down to eye level..

Sandy: What beautiful birds so superbly captured. Not sure you could have a better BG and I like that the reflection is not mirror smooth. I also like that you captured the eye contact of the first chick especially. Marvelous subjects and a fine presentation. >=))>
Hi Sandy
Don’t you just love motherhood and so close to Mather Day. This is just a A+ photograph, nice low angle, great detail and reflection too. Nice work.

Sandy, this is such an adorable image. I like that you have eye contact with with mother and chicks. Well composed and great exposure. Love the colorful reflections of the water. Great image!!!
A very fine image of this loon and chicks, Sandy. I remember some of your loon images from this location. This is an excellent one.
That is simply adorable, Sandy. Excellent catch.
This is gorgeous @Sandy_Richards-Brown. I love loons, and miss them from living in PA for grad school. I’ve never seen chicks in the wild. Really beautiful, the background blur is perfect.
What a sweet moment! Love the eye captures. I think the moody, darker BG goes with loons. Love it! Nice work!
Oh, be still my heart. A dream shot. I heard my first loons a year and a half ago on the way to Bella Coola Canada to shoot grizzlies. We stopped and spent the night at this quaint cottage on a lake. As the sunset one would call, and the other reply. I even made a recording of it with my phone, and I play it time to time. This, with the babies…beautiful.
