Any pertinent technical details: I took this shot along the Oregon coast. I guess the guy on top was bringing in nesting material (?) and it got the attention of some others below it. Not real sure what it was all about but it kinda tells bit of a story to me. It was taken with a D500, Nikon 2-500mm lens, 1/2500th, f/6.3. ISO 280, 500mm, cropped to 2218 x 2447, hand held

Looks like someone bringing in material for a nest, Dave. The cormorants do nest in colonies and there’s always a ruckus when someone arrives. I suspect the bird on the left is its mate and the one on the right is saying “stay away from my nest”. Detail looks good and I love the action. The cormorant in the lower left is a bit of a distraction, but given the positions of the others, you can’t crop it out. Some careful and tedious cloning might be able to cover it up, but that’s a lot of work. This image still works well for me as posted.
