I was fortunate a while back to stumble onto a coastal Pelican rookery from a fairly high up vantage point. This was one of several eye level, cruising by shots I got that fortuitous day. D500, Nikon 200-500 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, monopod/gimbal head, 1/2000th, f 8.0, 460mm, ISO 720, AI Clear, cropped to 5568 x 3712

What a wonderful capture Dave. The pelican is so clear and crisp. Love the details in its feathers.
Excellent detail in the pelican, Dave, and good eye contact. I think a little more canvas below and in front of the bird would be helpful-it feels just a bit crowded to me.
