I do very little wildlife photography but when the opportunity arises I’ll make an attempt. My wife and I had made a trip to Scottsdale for Christmas 2014 to spend with one of our sons and his family. We went on from there to Zion and Bryce Canyon and spent New Year’s Eve in Bryce. It had been snowing lightly all day but the roads were clear and there were very few folks in the park or hotel. We woke up New Year’s morning to over 8 inches of fresh powder. We were able to go into the park a little ways and came upon a small group of mule deer. This little lady was the best looking of the bunch and was kind enough to pose for a short modeling session. >=))>

Tried to give her some room to look. Too much, not enough, just right?

Wonderful model and capture that is well composed . The grasses offer nice low-key foreground. How about cloning out the v-shaped sprig in the LRC as it doesn’t go with the other grasses. Great shot. Maybe you should take up more wildlife.
Bill, she is very nicely posed with the bits of grass adding well to the scene. Looking at her ears, I say, she noticed you (the left ear pointed your way) even as she was more intent on something off to the side.
@Mark_Seaver: Not being much of a naturalist I never thought about her ear position. What I do remember about that morning was the wonderful silence and I could hear every step she made in the fresh powder. I’m sure she could hear every shutter snap and I’m glad she didn’t mind. >=))>
