Bubble Net Feeders

Here’s a photo of humpbacks performing bubble net feeding on a school of herring in Sitka Sound, Alaska. The whales break the surface for just a few seconds before sliding back into the water to re-group. I took this photo at the height of their surface activity and framed to show the environment. Cropped to about 2/3 of the original.

Very cool thing to experience. I saw your other image. I like the grouping of the whale’s and the environment presented. Well composed. While I have never seen humpbacks this close, I have experienced Orca’s from a kayak in Johnstone Strait off Vancouver Island and I can certainly relate to your encounter. Well done.

This is beautifully framed, you may crop off the foreground a touch if you like.
I may burn the shore line to make it less visible.
