Buffleheads

Maybe the cutest of the ducks. I was happy to get the pair more or less both in focus.

Canon 7DII; Sigma 150-600 at 600 mm; 1/2000 (hoping to catch them in flight) at f6.3, -2/3 EV(sun was shining and whites blown out at O EV, but had to bring up shadows in LR to show the iridescent colors), ISO 160.

Nice job, Allen, I like the relative poses and the detail in both is good-an excellent compromise on the focal plane. Gorgeous light and you got a good low angle. I like this.

Good for you getting the pair together in what looks like some sweet light. A tough exposure in sunlight for sure. I like how you centered them in the frame. Nice.

Great poses and excellent light. Nice sharpness and detail in the pair and I like the rippling water.

HI Allen
Vary pretty Buffleheads. Their coloring and detail of the Buffleheads are helped out by the setting sun and to top it of the low angle and reflection are vary nice.

You did a good job playing around with the shadows. Maximum cuteness and they are starting to form pairs as a sure sign of Spring…Jim

Very nice color light and point of view. Looks like it might be able to use a 2/10° clockwise rotation. Sorry to be picky.

What a nice capture, and the perfect pose of the two – it really fits their shape! I’ll second @David_Schoen’s rotation. It feels a bit underexposed – maybe it won’t work to let you retain the whites, but if the darks could be brought up just a bit more it might be good.

What a gorgeous light and the couple in juxtaposition is really great. Well done on the exposure. There’s nothing not to like in this image! I supposed David is right with the level. Other that that: a stellar image ! Cheers, Hans
