A really cheery photo. I did not realize bushtits could show yellow plumage; ours are pretty much shades of gray. The bokeh background and the blossoms add a lot.
I got the feeling that I wished for less blossom, so I healed out the tip and burned the top a bit. Darkened a few other areas; my vertically cropped result seems to lack the overall grace of the original, though. Also found that Topaz Photo’ Wildlife sharpen model added some detail to the fine plumage - I think I could have dialed that back a hair.
Allen: This is such a beautiful image! Reminds me of the work of old time NPN member Larry Lynch’s work with cherry blossoms. Wonderful light and the soft BG goes so well with the soft color palette. Many kudos. >=))>
What a breath of fresh spring air and sunshine! Composition is wonderful…so refreshing to see a photo with room on the opposite side of where the bird is facing…the bird still has room to fly away when it wants to. Colours are soft and invigorating. I tend to be attracted to complimentary colours and this is a good reminder to try different pairs of colours, e.g. pink and yellow. My one thought might be to try darkening the left half of the photo, practicularly the slightly blurry blossoms just a tad as they have equal tonal value as the in focus branch and I was confused where to look first. I hope this is helpful. Lovely image.
