I have a multitude of shots showing the travertine layers of Mammoth Hot Springs, but thought I’d give folks a break by looking elsewhere. This is a view from last fall of Calcite Springs on the Yellowstone river with the remnants of a fall snow helping to show off the many ridges leading to the Absoroka Mountains in the distance. Mark: What a beautiful scene and a wonderful capture. I especially like the steam venting on the riverside. Makes me want to be there. >=))>
Wonderful lines. Brilliant and sharp detail. Superb color.
This image shows how powerful are layers to a composition. There are so many wedges here. Even the green trees on the left is a wedge.
Excellent, Mark. This composition is very good at leading the eye through all the layers. I like this a lot.
Great shot with lots of layers as my eye travels through this crisp, and cold snowy landscape. I really like the details. Beautiful!
