Description

Here’s a shot I got at a branding I was invited to photograph a while back. It was at the Erickson Ranch in CA and that’s Tim Erickson himself showing his roping skills here. This was just the start of what was going to befall this little feller that morning. I was allowed to get in there amongst the action. I just had to be alert, and ready jump out of the way if necessary. It was a memorable morning for me.

Great action in this image, Dave. I could wish the calf had run in a different direction as the corral in the background is a bit of a distraction, but it’s a fine documentary image.

PS: They really should have painted the calf to match those bright blue shirts!
