We’ve been fortunate to find a wildlife area we can walk in that’s been pretty much devoid of other people. I’ve passed scores of flowering trees, hoping a bird would land on one and finally this scrub jay obliged. Not the best look at the jay, but I like the setting-bird combo.

Hi Allen, yes - a very nice setting for this Jay. Nicely composed with the flowers framing the bird for the most part. A profile view of the bird may have been more ideal but this head on look still makes for an interesting image.

Yes, to a great setting. Touch to find open spots on blooming trees. I tried recently and had no luck!
I think I prefer a horizontal crop here, but less square. Alternatively, maybe a crop from each side so it’s more of a vertical. Only other comment is that image quality could be better. Detail seems to be lacking a bit in both the bird and the blooms.
