I find this to be a very pleasing image. I like the head turn, detail in the plumage, composition. it certainly seems to be effective when viewed large. I have a few mixed feelings about the perch, but there’s probably nothing you could’ve done about that.

Nice pose with good IQ and a lovely BG. There is a small OOF area behind the perch above the foot/leg, but not a big deal. The perch competes a little – maybe lower contrast on it?

Very good, Allen. Nice to see one with an acorn. I know they go nuts in a mast year though we still don’t have really large numbers of them up here. I do see the little blurry areas that @Diane_Miller mentioned.

Sweet image - beautiful bird, great pose with the acorn, tack-sharp, and I like the perch, although I might burn it and the acorn down just a bit. There is a bit of processing fuzz below the breast and on the top of the nearby perch you might want to get rid of.
Very nice catch!

Nice lighting and details in this one Allen. I love the eye contact you got here. The BG is really nice and smooth.

I keep coming back to this one. There’s just something about the colors, pose and crispness that makes me want to enjoy it over again. Sure, the stump is large, but darkening could reduce its effect if you had a mind. And maybe lighten just the eye, too, if you want. Busy birds aren’t too fussed about where they get their work done and this one is so engaging.

Very nice image, Allen. I like the background color and the feather details are very sharp, especially around the eye when enlarged.
