That is a tough exposure, Allen. I think I’d back off on the overall exposure quite a bit and then bring the bird back up, if needed. The juniper berries and sunlit side of the leaves are looking a bit blown out to my eye.
A very cool bird in a great setting.

Hi Allen,
Love the placement of the bird in the tree and berries. Agree with bringing the exposure down. Part of the bird’s throat looks blown to me. Lovely image overall.

Love the composition of this one. Having some foliage both in front of and behind really adds some depth. It does appear to be a little over exposed as others have said. You could likely just slide the exposure to the left, but maybe a slight vignette would help some too. I like the glowy aspen color in the back!

Hi Allen
You are definitely getting ready for the Holiday cards. Very cool.

I too really like the capture although I would look at bringing down the highlights a bit and popping the blue some. Neato photo!

This is such a great capture. The foliage provides a natural vignette for the image and provides some gorgeous color. The yellow aspens really set of the blue of the Jay. Yep, It’s a little bit blown out. Easy to fix though. I hope you don’t mind but I brought it into LR for a quick edit. Brought the total exposure down 1.3 stops and then brought the jay back up selectively.

Nice job on this one .
I think I would go for an exposure that’s halfway between what you shot and what David Haynes recommended. His is a little dark to me. Blown or almost blown whites in the neck are a little distracting. But I like the setting very much.
