Calm After The Storm

Image(s)

Image Description

I was walking though a local park after a snowstorm had passed, looking to photograph some winter scenes. I focused on this small scene, where the freshly fallen snow seemed to cling to all the branches. The moment was so still and quiet, without one bit of wind to disturb the snow.

Ted,

I like the composition very much. The detail in the main trunk is great and the color balance is very warm and inviting in spite of this being a cold winter scene.

Excellent image, Ted. I really like the depth of field. My eye tends to look at this in layers, working it’s way back seemingly to infinity. Very well done.

I like the tangle and the fragility of the snow - so temporary on those branches. Great twisty turns and paths to follow. I wonder if the light areas on the near trunk could be toned down or cloned out. They look as though someone cut the branches. Other wise an intriguing slice of fleeting snow.

This is a very pleasing and intriguing image Ted; it appears the snow has latched onto every available space, further highlighting the tangle of tree branches, undergrowth, and vines that exist here. Of special interest is the “mountain” created by one tree limb and it almost appears as if someone had carved their initials into the bark, which, unfortunately, some people are wont to do. The brighter spots where limbs may have been removed don’t really bother me.

Thank you @Youssef_Ismail @Kris_Smith @Dennis_Plank and @Jim_Lockhart. I greatly appreciate all your kind comments.
