Lumix S5

I’ve just shot two white Phalaenopsis flowers on a similar stem, with only 5 blooms. Haven’t had time to process, but with whites I always do a balance between Exposure, Highlights and Whites, with Shadows thrown in. Takes several iterations to get the best balance, but I want to see a lot of tones in the highlights. You only have the tonal overhead to do this in the raw stage.

This one looks pretty good except for the blown highlights on the right petal. I usually keep some subtle color to add just a bit more tonal information.

Steve: Very nice presentation of a beautiful subject. My only tiny suggestion would be to take the BG all the way to black. The dim mottled spots distract me a bit and would be pretty easy to remove. >=))>
