Cape May Warbler View #2

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I have never had much luck at Magee Marsh, but when it happens, good photos can be had. The board is difficult for photography due to the crowded conditions. Birds do not sit still for a long time. There is a trail that originates from the east and west ends of the parking lot and traverses the south edge of the cottonwood and willow thickets. and offers the best, but often brief looks at migrants. Cool weather keeps the birds low and best views are usually encountered during or between rain showers.

Specific Feedback

I burned some of the highlights in the BG lash leaves. I cropped this one a lot tighter than my first photo of this colorful warbler. How do you like the comp? I did not have to do much editing as the image quality was quite good.

Technical Details

Z9 200-400mm f4 (1/1600 sec at f6.3, ISO 1600, Natural Light–bright overcast conditions) Crop for comp, DeNoise, slight reduction in highlights in Lightroom. Sharpening done with opacity reduced to minimize over-sharpening…Jim

Gorgeous detail in the warbler, Jim, with a nice little head turn and excellent exposure. I like the angle you managed to get on the perch with it just slightly going out of focus toward the left and right , but never giving that really ugly look that we end up with so often. The background habitat looks great without distracting at all from the bird. Very well done.

I agree with Dennis here. This is a well done image everything in focus where it needs to be. The detail is excellent. Color is wonderful. Really good composition. A bird I have never seen before

This is another great shot of the warbler Jim. It is nice that he was on an open perch for you. They are so fast and so hard to get clear shots of. Your colors and details are really good. Thanks for the tip about using opacity with the sharpening to avoid the crispies.

Excellent look at the warbler. Nice pose, sharp detail, and nice setting. Well done.
