Cape Mears Light

I made it down to the Oregon Coast last Friday for a few hours of photography.

This is a fairly simple and easy composition of the Cape Mears Light. At just 38 feet tall, it’s the shortest lighthouse on the entire Oregon Coast.

For this shot, I added a 6-stop ND filter to get a 2 minute exposure. I wanted to smooth out the ocean. It probably could have gone 4 minutes for even more smoothness.

Is this a composite: No
36mm, 120 sec @ f/11, ISO 125, Polarizer, ND filter, Tripod

I cloned some juniper tree tops out of the right bottom side of the image to simplify the view.

Good look at the lantern or whatever the light is technically called. Your background works well to show it off, too.

I like the relative simplicity of this one David. Is there too much clutter at the bottom to show the full light ?
