Cathedral of Trees

While hiking down the trail to Blackwater Falls in WV I noticed this beautiful grouping of trees with this glorious backlighting. It literally stopped me in my tracks and I knew that I had to get set up and capture the image before the light was gone. It was a drizzly day with light off and on showers so the greens were quite lush and lovely. This was one of my favorites from the trip.

As always thanks for taking a moment and leaving your thoughts.

Lovely! Three trunks and three kinds of foliage, with wonderful light – a wall hanger!

Ed, the variety of greens is indeed lovely, especially with the back lighting. This is just the kind of view that is routine when walking a trail in the eastern forests that add to the pleasure of the hike.

Well seen and captured, Ed. Great eye to catch this on the trail.
