Checking In After Too Long a Time

Good Morning, NPN!

Yeah, it’s been a long time since I was last active here at NPN and for that I apologize. Anyway…here I am.

I am doing well life and health-wise. Photography-wise, I fell into a creative limbo and simply have not been inspired for a long time.

I’ve been lurking a bit here at NPN for awile trying to get a feeling for the happenings here, so when I feel comfortable, I’ll post more often. There is some really fine work being posted, so perhaps that will give me some inspiration: we’ll see.

It’s good to see NPN is still doing well! I hope all is well with everyone!

Best regards,
-Preston

Preston, so good to see you on NPN. Looking forward to seeing some of your photos and reading your critiques. I know somewhat of what you are going through. For me, after caregiving for my husband and then his passing, all the stuff that I had to take care of and some health issues associated with all the stress, I seem to be struggling too. I have tried to keep up with the critiques but find some days it isn’t easy. I have been busy, no question. I just haven’t had the opportunity nor the desire to get out and do much photography. It is hard to get back into it once you hit a slump. I’m thankful that the NPN community doesn’t hold it against us and just is there when we are feeling like being back. I’m glad you are good in life and health though. I think we all have or will have a time when we get into a creative limbo. Even when I have had a chance to take photos, I find I am in that limbo for editing them. I hope you are soon back to your normal creative self and able to capture, edit, post and be a part of this community. You have been missed.

Preston, nice seeing your post here. Long time since the sierra meetups. Can’t say I do those long distance outings anymore. I think the last time I heard from you it was regarding 4x5 processing. Not sure you ever used the group I recommended but I just got stuff back from there a few days ago again. Although they did merge with a nationwide organization now. Still quality work consistencly. I’ve know the owner since the 70-80’s during my Drag Racing days.

Good to hear from you Preston. We’ve missed your presence. Not sure it will help with inspiration, but when I get into a slump, I try to look at other genres to see if one of them will spark my interest.

Well hello there my good friend! So great to have you take another NPN plunge! It’s been a while and we’ve missed your images and participation!

Maybe this summer we can get those creative juices flowing again!

Welcome back sir!

oh yeah, lovely cascade Preston! I could swear I’ve been there before…

Welcome back, Preston! I look forward to seeing your work again!

Preston - Great to see you again! Hoping you’ll feel comfortable posting again. I took a break, but am also back. Maybe Harley too? I hope so..

Thanks everyone for the kind “welcome home” notes.

It’s great to see so many familiar faces!

Hi Preston, great to see you again! Like you, I’m not a frequent visitor on NPN; not for the same reasons as you, just because time doesn’t allow it as much. Hope you’re doing well, and I hope to see you around here again.

@Preston_Birdwell , it’s great to see you and your work here on NPN again! I’ve been in a bit of a photographic limbo myself lately but I feel I am coming out of it.

Welcome back Preston! I have fond memories of you from back in the old Sierra meetup days, and have always appreciated your comments. The last few years I have often travelled up/down over Sonora Pass and each time have wondered about you and remembered your love of that area. I look forward to your presence here again.
