This image was captured many years ago in the butterfly house; Wings of Fancy; located in Brookside Gardens in MD. They used to book photography sessions for photographers in the morning before the general public was allowed in. It was a great place, then Covid came along and they closed up and haven’t reopened since. I called them last year and inquired about when they might reopen. I was told no idea. Oh well.

Have I cropped enough from the top? How about the color in the URC?

This is a beautiful shot of the butterfly and the flower. The color in the URC isn’t a problem for me, nor is the crop from the top of the image. I would be tempted to crop from the bottom to eliminate the background flower in the LLC and place more emphasis on the subject.
Ed, sweet catch! Lovely colours and detail. I like your unusual crop, although I’d suggest a bit more room on the top. I also like the blooms at the bottom, especially the perpendicular one.
Ed: I got a nice little -meter spike with this one. I actually like it very much as is and like all of your decisions. It stinks that COVID caused so much havoc to the entire society and not just our health. Hope there is hope for Wings of Fancy. >=))>
I agree about a bit more space on top. But I like the long stem. Would you be able to clone out that LLC bloom? The LRC one is OK to my eye. (Choices, choices). A great look at the Swallowtail and Verbena.
Ed, I think this looks great as presented. The long arch of the stem leading up to the butterfly is nicely dynamic and that feeling fits well with your positioning of the butterfly. The various colors in the background and the oof lower flower add a good sense of summer joy.
I like this one as presented even though I believe that other crops may actually provide strong comps as this one. The arching stem and big, boldly patterned butterfly work well together. Well done…Jim
