Cinnamon Bear at Breakfast

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This cinnamon black bear was grazing contentedly at the entrance to the Petrified Tree in Yellowstone NP as the sun was just coming up over the hill to the East.

Specific Feedback

I probably could remove the OOF grass stems from in front of the face, but it showed the depth of the grass the bear was working in. Should I burn the BG tree back a bit? I really like the morning glow on this bear. Any comments are welcomed.

Technical Details

Canon R5, f10, 1/250 s, iso 200, 100-500+1.4tc at 700 mm.

He is a great looking bear, hope you had a loooong lens!

My only thought, depending how much of a purist you want to be, would be to clone the grasses to cover the back area, so that he is just a bear in a sea of grass - no distractions. It is just a thought, he is great just the way he is!

Thank you @elizabeth. I tried working on toning down the brightness of the log and then with cloning it out with very little success. It is just too big to remove cleanly.
