Mike, the bird looks a bit wet. It stands out well from the mass of flowers. I like the subtleness of the colors in the flowers and leaves.
Certainly a different approach to high key, using the flowers as the high key component. I think I would crop off to the branches from the top moving the chickadee into the upper third. Otherwise a very nice image.
