Red-winged Blackbird High Key

Another from a week ago. This was nearly high key in the original, so I decided to take it all the way, thus reducing the impact of the grasses.

I like the high key look, Dennis. I might consider cloning out the branch in the lower left corner. But that’s a minor thing. I really like the positioning in the frame. Very cool.

I also enjoy the high key comp. I think you might be able to maintain the black saturation but still bring up more of the detail in the dark plumage by using the shadows slider…

I like the high key approach in this photo. There is just enough of the background grass to keep my interest. I love red winged black birds but they leave us in the winter. We know it’s spring when they show up again.

Excellent high key image, Dennis! I like your thinking.

The one thing I’ll bring up is that my eye seems to want a tad more room on the left and bottom for the blackbird’s tail.

Thanks, @Jenaya_Launstein I agree it could use a bit more room down there.
