Cold Hearted

An arifact resulting from the interaction of tide water and shore ice. A high tide comes in and melts the ice left from the last tide, leaving interesting shapes and patterns. I was walking the dogs and came upon this cold heart with lacy edges. The horizontal lines were caused by rivulets of salt water flowing back to the sea.

Gary, a fine find. The details in the chunk and the lines underneath work well together. Thanks for the salt water flow description, I started out thinking that this might be a chunk of ice on planks, but that’s clearly not the case when you look at the details.
