Very cool, Allen. I didn’t know they’d go for something like a crab. The detail in the duck is excellent and the bit of natural history adds a lot.

Excellent behavior. Common goldeneyes really enjoy crustaceans. They hang out under docks and other places where one finds muscles, barnacles, etc. Good job on the color and exposure. I might want to remove the specular highlights from the beak.

Another decisive moment well caught! The head is a bit soft – motion blur of out of the focal plane a bit – but not enough to detract from the action. I’d prefer the duck moved just a bit higher in the frame.

Nice that you caught the goldeneye with a bit of food morsel. Very strong looking bill on him. Well done.

Hi Allen, very interesting action and of a beautiful species. Nice color on the head. I agree with Diane that the head is soft.
