Common Merganser

This was taken about four years ago and reprocessed with new software. This is a much larger
crop then what I posted four years ago. It is also less saturated.

Pertinent technical details or techniques: iso-250, 150-600 mm at 550 mm, F8, 2000th, bright sun, 80% of full frame, D 500, handheld

Very nice color and details. Excellent job in processing. Like the bow wave as well.

This is a dandy picture of a merganser which I find very hard to get close to. I like the nice full side pose and excellent eye contact.

You handled the bright light well. Detail on the bird is really nice. The only nit that I have is that the background is a little bit more in focus than I’d prefer. Not sure if running some NR would work or maybe try to blur it ever-so-slightly.
