An uncommonly beautiful view of this Pelican, Sandy. Every time I’m near them, I hope for an angle that shows them off this well. Thus far I haven’t come close.

Yes, love the dorsal view and the spread tail! Great catch of this dive. No nits from me.

What a fine shot. I really like its look, and clarity. you nailed it.

Beautiful. Love those breeding colors. Looks like the bird’s head was in shade, but you handled it really well. My only critique is that I’d like to see it larger–show off those D850 files!

Excellent wing and body position against the horizon. This looks like a fairly large crop? Exposure and color are quite good. These aren’t common in Puget Sound. The last time a brown pelican visited the Nisqually refuge was close to 20 years ago. I remember being able to paddle my kayak within 50 feet of it in the day when I was using a point and shoot with limited telephoto ability.

Really different view, and I like it! They may be common for you, but I haven’t seen one in years! Lovely image.
