Coyote Mother and Child

It pays to be at the right time and in the right place! Got lucky for sure

Looking back I agree highlights can be toned down some - though a different image, the 2nd one is from the same shoot - perhaps better exposed and a little more of a story

Re DOF - perhaps the subjects were too close to the background and additionally the lens property itself - this is a 180-400 with 1:4 in built TC. I’m sure my 600 would have served me better here

Specific Feedback Requested

Cropped 60-70% and then multiplied x 2 using Topaz Gigapixel

How does this process work in terms of acceptable sharpness ?

I do have the whole frame with both for a better “environmental” shot

Wonderful photos! What an awesome moment you captured! What a privilege for you to see them. I love coyotes, they are such beautiful animals! I love the happy yipping sounds they make when they’re all together!

Karl, how cool to see this interaction at (relatively) close range.

To me the second image is much more appealing thanks to the mirrored poses), and—if the pixels are there—I’d attempt a tighter vertical crop to emphasize that. It’s a wonderful shot.
