Motherly Love

I caught this female Gray Fox in my yard sharing a tender moment with one of her kits.

This is a very sweet scene, Terry. I love the pose of the mother and the dappled lighting. My only nit is the out of focus sunlit branches above their heads that draw my eye too much. If you do cloning, they’d be easy to remove or with that black background, you can just paint over them.

Thanks, Dennis. Yes, I can clone those. I’ve been working hard on my Photoshop skills, but I need to get Photoshop 2020. My version is really old.

Very cute. The shadows are a bit harsh, but you had what you had. Still a very nice shot.

Thanks, Brett. I like the shadows falling across the foxes but, as Dennis pointed out, the background brightness and shadows could use a little work.

Hi Terry !
I love the tender moment and the spot lit effect.
I feel you can extract some detail in the shadows. I’ve a small suggestion, whenever you shoot them next time, choose a lower POV, I mean sit down or just lie down and shoot, then see some magic.

I know the feeling. I’m still using my CS5 enhanced as I paid so very much for it that I hated to jettison it so soon.

I just never really got proficient at it, David so there was no need to upgrade. Now that I’m seriously trying to learn it, I’m working with an antique. I’m using Elements 12.

Hi, Jagdeep.

Dang! I’m an old man! If I sit down or lie down, I may not get up again!!

I’m so sorry, didn’t mean any harm. Just suggested, looking at the picture.

I know. Just joking, my friend!

I like the lighting on this one, Terry. I agree with others that just a little bit of work with curves to bring out some shadow detail would be helpful plus a square crop would work nicely for this image. Right now everything important is on the left side of the frame.

Thanks, Gary. Yeah, I think a little bit of tweaking would be helpful.
