To me the Smoky Mountains are the very definition of Fog and Mist. I like this image because the right center of the river of fog reminds me of a wave crashing on a beach and the early morning sunlight patches.

Robert: A marvelous scene indeed and an aptly titled shot. I really like the hint of a spectral display in the fog and the implied movement. My only suggestion would be to crop from the top 20-30% to give the wave more prominence in the frame but this does work for me as is. Nicely done. >=))>
I too like the title! That swell right of center really does look like a wave crashing in.
I think @Bill_Fach’s suggestion to play with crops that emphasize the fog is a good one. There’s also a loss of detail in that darker slope across the center that would be good to work on.
Thank you, Bill. I gave the suggested crop a go, but by doing that I loose the effect of the " flowing river of fog" that was a part of the scene that attracted me to capture it in the first place. Robert Engle
I really like this picture. It tells a story. If you look toward the center, you can see the light and picturesque details in the trees. Looking up, you can sense the vastness.
