Great find, Ian. The shape is fun and at the same time the texture and colors of the stone is very nice. Nothing to improve here.

Hi Ian, good to see you here. This is a terrific portrait of a duck, I mean a rock. I like the comp and placement of the rocks the sand makes for a great way to show negative space. Well done.

Lol. This really does look like Daffy (not Donald). He even has a mustache.

I also see a woman’s torso with her arms behind her back. That’s the vision I prefer actually.

Ian, the shapes and bands of color in your image are fantastic. They are set against a neutral background which helps emphasize the shapes. I like the even lighting as well. Great find and very nice image.

I love little scenes like this one.
I wonder how it would transform the image if the focus was just on the rock with no sand at all? Then it has more of an abstract quality to it - although, it depends on what you were trying to accomplish and convey!

Ian,

Great to see a post from you! Yes! I see Daffy - although admittedly it took just a little bit to see it…

The sand is so uniform and perfect that this almost comes across as like a studio setup… But having that smaller rock and bit of seaweed helps “place” this in it’s environment.

Processing spot on. No nits or suggestions. Great eye to see this, a great find. Nicely framed, well done.

This is really an image about lines, shapes, color and depth. This has been processed very naturally. The smaller rock and the seaweed add a lot to this image and so does the perfect, no grain out of place, sand. I do see Daffy. What a great find Ian. Nice to see you posting again.

This is fabulous Ian. Yes, I see Daffy and a wonderful array of striations with a touch of pastel color.

This is a beautiful image Ian. I love the simple background the layers of the larger rock, and how it also transitions from dark to light. I do wish there was a bit more negative space on the top and bottom to help reduce the visual tension from those subjects approaching the edge. It’s such a calm image overall, and I find the visual seems only to take away from the calm sense of the image. Definitely a beautiful subject and very well done overall.
