Dark-eyed Junco

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Too bad there are some leaves covering the junco and perhaps the perch is a bit big, but I like this for the fairly close-up view the junco gave me and the pose isn’t too bad.

Specific Feedback

Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi Allen, I think you critiqued this pretty well. Nice pose and details and I like the leafy environment except for the ones intersecting the bird.

When I look at this, I find myself kin d of liking the way those leaves come in parallel with one another. It makes an interesting pattern, like looking at the bird through a blind. You might be able to accent that feeling a bit by cropping in a little from the left-maybe to just before the left edge of the perch.

I second Dennis’s comments. If it were just one leaf I would find it distracting.

Hi Allen
I think the two leaves help to frame the Junco head and body. Nice work.
