Description: On a hike up Slide Mountain in the Catskills, a few years ago, there’s a huge chipmunk community! Their calls filled the air in the giant quiet forest as we worked our way up the trail. I think this was the entrance to this little one’s house!

Sounds like a noisy place. Just one of these guys, when they going, is super loud and insistent. And they do like a hollow log. Nice catch.

How can a rodent be that cute? Nice capture, and nice to see the fallen tree making a good home for this little critter.
