I made this several years ago on a workshop with Michael Gordon & Guy Tal. It’s from the Ubehebe Crater area. I found the frozen “pond” so interesting.

Any comments welcome. I processed this quite awhile ago and just ran across it looking for something else. I might do some things differently now, but thought I’d throw this out anyway.
Pertinent Technical Details
Sony a7, 25-70mm lens (which I’d rented for the workshop, discovering I didn’t like it very much).
Hi Bonnie, This image is quite an interesting juxtaposition of elements in the southwest environment. The B&W conversion is really working nicely for you. I like how the texture of ice plays against the stratified eroded hillside. The eye has plenty of detail to explore from the dirt of the foreground through the ice, hills and the clouds beyond. Well seen and processed.
Wow! I don’t expect to find ice against those formations – and I love the natural vignetting at the bottom. Nothing to add except well seen and presented!!
