This Gadwall duck was in a tidal pond on a beautiful sunny day. It had gone to the back of the pond underneath the overhanging alders & grass to take a nap where the eagles wouldn’t see him. Even though he was under the foliage, the low morning sun was lighting him up as he quietly went to sleep.

A great choice for this challenge Gary. Lighting is very nice in this spot and I like your overall composition. Funny to see him napping with one eye open. Nice detail in his feathers too.

Hard to get more serene than asleep! Nice find, Gary. The details in the duck and the dark green surrounding look great and are very calming.
