Dry Shadows

The desert is a great place to use shadows in compositions. I don’t believe that I’ve posted this on NPN. Taken recently at Painted Hills. I remember thinking how I would use the black wedge created by a strong shadow in the lrc to help the composition.

Igor, the dark shadows and the muted tones give this an intriguing and somewhat mysterious feeling. This is an interesting use of shadows, especially the one in the lrc.

Igor, I agree with Mark about the great use of shadows. This is an excellent composition, and I can’t say I would think to use the shadow in the LRC as you have. It works very well. The colors and forms here are also quite nice. No nits here.

The large image is a must see. This is supposed to be a critique forum but I can’t find any. The use of color, form and shadow is excellent.
