Description

I took this on one of our evening walks to the beach along Bubbling Springs walkway. I think they call it bubbling springs due to the methane produced by all of the park ducks. . .

Cool action on the duck’s part, Ed. I took this into PS to check the level and according to the reflection it is, though the angle of the duck to you makes it look a bit weird. When I took it in I noticed that PS didn’t ask me about the color space and its look changed radically, so I suspect you forgot to embed the color space when you exported this one.

Overall, this image feels a little dark to me. I don’t know how close the whites are, but I’d at least look at bringing up the shadows.

Thank you @Dennis_Plank. I’ve reposted with the sRGB color profile embedded now. I brought up the shadows a bit more (the Upper and Right sides were in pretty deep shadow to start with). It looks a bit muddy to me now.

I like the brighter aspect of the repost. Neat action of the water dripping from the bill and that the shadow looks pretty sharp.

Ed, This is a fun image of a Mallard drinking. Very cool. The brighter version looks good, but I think something between the two would work without the muddiness. I see that you cropped for the composition…I might consider taking a bit off the left and adding some space to the right…that would put the duck a little off center and give him some room to move into…just a thought. It’s great to see a Mallard. I like to photograph them myself…Nicely done sir.
