Eastern Bluebird with Robber Fly

Another image of a male bluebird bringing an insect back to the nest box in my yard. I’m always fascinated by what they catch to bring in for the chicks.

Canon 7D2, 400mm f4 DO IS II, 1.4x TC III, tripod
ISO 400, f10, 1/500s

Took a stub off the perch and brightened the eye some.
Any comments appreciated.

Very good, Allen. Excellent detail in both the bird and the fly. Excellent job on the stub removal as well.

Wow, Allen, this has got to be some of the best bluebird picture I have ever seen. Being able to see the eye (or eyes?) of the prey is a huge huge bonus. Processing looks really good to me here, going f/10 does pay off!!

Really nice! Spring has sprung!
Nice colours, BG, and great prey - somehow it seems just a little “flat” from here - maybe it’s just my laptop.
