Edge Effect in the desert

In the desert, plants do what they gotta do, in this case find a niche between the dry mud and the adjoining sand. I applied an edge effect in processing and went a bit low key, getting rid of some gloppy mud and uninteresting leaf tissue.

Dick, the mud cracks at the top stand out well, as does the plant. I like the processing and abstraction, except I’d like to see the subtle detail in all of the flower petals that shows in a couple of them. That however is my wish, not necessarily yours.

An unusual image… both in subject and environment. I like the illustration soft effect that you chose. I’m enjoying viewing each element and how they interplay.
