The locals told us of a dead cow carcass the vultures had found.
These things are huge, and squabble continuously, and are truly impressive birds when you’re fairly close.
Several kinds of vultures elected to join us

An absolutely perfect perch for a vulture, Sandy. I like the pose-obviously ready to join the feeding squabble. We don’t think of this kind of activity in our area, but a couple of friends told me on a Thursday a few years ago that they’d seen vultures on a dead cow near the boundary of a preserve where we all do volunteer work and we went out on Friday. The carcass was clean with just a couple of ravens hanging around by then.

LOL - the vultures thought so too. They kept fighting over this particular stump when many others were available. One chased the last off, then the next chased the current one off. Reminded me of little kids.

Hi Sandy, really nice pose from this vulture and a great perch as stated above. Fine details and I like the distant scene in the background. Looks ready to pounce.

Excellent look at the vulture and the perch somehow seems to fit the vulture well.
