Riding the Thermals

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

Griffon Vulture, Portugal
We were high in the hills overlooking the coast of Portugal last Christmas, and several of these huge vultures were floating around at eye level. They are the size of California condors, with a wingspan of 9-9.5 feet
Note the ragged feathers here from shuffling around on the ground and skirmishing with other vultures for the tastiest bits of the carrion they eat.

Really nice catch Sandy. Great detail, fine exposure, and I like the in flight pose too. Love seeing the clouds in the bottom of the image. My only minor suggestion would be to add a tad more room on the right so the bird is less centered in the frame. Great capture.

What a cool shot Sandy. I love seeing the clouds below the griffon. Nice BBIF image. Big Bird in Flight. I could see having a bit more room to the right as suggested by Allen too.

Hi Sandy
I like the framing, the Vulture has good feather detail and eye contact.
