Description

Coati Mundi, Pantanal, Brazil
Coatis are raccoon-like creatures with 4 distinct sub-species - one is found in t he US Southwest. They live mostly in trees, and build high nests to give birth. Females are often in groups, as large as 20-30 individuals. Females share babysitting duties, which can involve 100 youngsters.
Coatis eat fruit, invertebrates, small rodents and lizards. They forage for food on the ground and occasionally in trees.
Here, it is eating the Goiaba fruit, similar to guava, and eyeing the next group of fruit to pick

Ooooh, I love the rich browns and reds in the fur in these Sandy. Nice late afternoon, evening (?) light. You got some great feeding action in the first image. I really like the look it is giving you in the third though. Great series.
