Fade away - revised

Slightly revised version based on feedback with gentle tweaks to contrast and removal of a few stray wispy bits in the top left

Original:

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was attracted to the feathery texture of the grasses and how they curled.

I like this image both in colour and black and white, I chose black and white for this submission to emphasise the parallel lines of the grasses.

Parallel AND curving, now thats just cheating! This is great. I love the range of dark to light here. Really nice!

Thanks @Paul_Holdorf !

Nice choice for a monochrome so to make us pay attention to that wispy texture and lovely lines. You could, if you wanted, add a bit more contrast by pushing the whites just a little. Also there are some stray wispies in the upper left corner that could disappear. Lovely catch, especially for this week’s theme.

Hi Kristen - yes I think you’re right, the whites could do with just a little more. I actually hadn’t spotted those bits top left, I’ll sort those out as well. Thanks!

Updated image at the top with a few minor tweaks

The contrast boost and edge clean up improved things nicely.
