Fall Flair

Image Description

I went out yesterday to check on the fall colors along my favorite creek. They really aren’t all that great down here in the low foothills of northern California, but there’s enough color to provide a little bit of fall flavor. The sparkles of sunlight on the moving water, though, were more interesting to me than the fall color itself. This is a combination of two ICM images of the moving water and sunlight squiggles. Although each were interesting on their own, combining them made the colors and squiggles sing even more.

Two ICM images, each at the specs shown below. Hand held.

Bonnie - this is quite cool! The colours and squiggly water contrst each other well, and the implied motion really draws me in. Facinating!
Very well-done!

Very interesting! The crazy-wild splashes overlay the calmer layer in a fascinating way. A success!!!

Bonnie, this does a fine job creating a sense of movement with the “swirls” of sparkling water. The distorted light and dark rocks below make a fine “background”.

Thanks, @Sandy_Richards-Brown, @Diane_Miller, and @Mark_Seaver.

You certainly made lemonade out of lemons. I like the warm color palette. The textures of the splashing water are great. Not sure how you achieve that, but it really works. The curved flow of the splashes through the image are nicely composed.
