Self Critique

This was inspired by Stephanie Johnson’s webinar on blurs. I wanted to create an abstract and emphasize the windy aspect of the fall. I am able to get the right kind of blur. Not sure about the composition

Creative direction

my vision was to create a blur emphasizing the effect of wind

Ravi,

I love the colors in this image. But to be honest, the concept of wind escapes me with this photo. It is a nice abstract but I’m not seeing “wind” in it.

Thanks Youssef, for pointing it out. I made several images on that windy day showing the effect of wind, but this is not one of those. Thanks for your comments.

I appreciate the fall colors you have here Ravi, and the mysticism of the trunks is very pleasing in the way it gives the color some form.

I tend to think of the wind as blurring more directionally/horizontally, but I’m not sure I’m the best to give feedback (since I spend most of my days out cursing the wind and what she brings to my photographs :grinning:). My impression is that most of the ICM/blur images are being posted in the Abstract Critiques these days, and you might see what that forum has to say.

The colors are very pleasing. Composition is sort of a blank slate. Makes me wonder if this could be used as a background for some of your windy images.
