Favorite Images from 2024

Image(s)

Image Description

Here are a few of my favorite images from this past year. While these might not be the best photos I’ve taken , they do represent those moments and experiences that stood out to me in 2024. From a trio of rare celestial events-an amazing Northern Lights display, a comet streaking through the evening sky, and a total solar eclipse-to some unique landscapes and some interesting wildlife encounters. I hope you will find that these images ignite your sense of wonder and inspire you to get out and see all that nature has to offer. Thank you for taking a look.

Feedback Requests

General feedback on each image and anything from a technical perspective that might help to improve them.

Pertinent Technical Details

I always use either Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw to process the images, with either Adobe Denoise AI or Topaz Photo AI to clear up any excessive noise. The wildlife images are usually shot at higher ISO’s and are noisier than the landscape images, so more often require denoise treatment. Any distractions present are removed in Photoshop.

Beautiful work Ted! Definitely a year well spent. Hopefully 2025 will net you even more outdoor experiences!

Ted, you caught a number of outstanding atmospheric optic phenomena, with the comet, the diamond ring eclipse and the aurora, where the sky colors nicely balanced against the human lighting. The pano of the cranes has me grinning, they’re so much fun to watch and hear.

Thanks Guy. Hoping 2025 is good to you too.
