Feeding time

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Noticed the young robin calling out. Stopped to take a few photos of it when an adult arrived with a bright red berry. Kept shooting and got this image just as the berry was delivered. I was happy to get this shot.

Specific Feedback

Is the image too small? I think the red berry helps to make the image. Do you?

Nice catch, John. I’m not used to seeing them feeding berries this time of year, though I’m seeing some kind of pits in our birdbaths, so something is ripe out there. The size works for me. I think a higher iso and shutter speed would have helped a bit-there seems to be a bit of motion blur in the chick’s head, but everything else looks nice and crisp.

Great job spotting this.

Good action/behavioral image, John. The berry draws the eye to the action. I like the wide open mouth of the youngster. The environment is nice as well.

Thank you for your comments.
