The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
The images I make with ICM are not merely representational of what I see (reality), they are more expressions of my experience at that moment. It is a more creative experience for me. Not to say I do not enjoy making representational images however. George Bernard Shaw wrote, “Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.” Personally, there is a creative freedom and awareness I experience using ICM which I cannot obtain through purely representational imagery. Ansel Adams wrote, “Most creative photographs are departures from reality and it seems to take a higher order of craft to make this departure than to simulate reality.” I am sure some would disagree with him.
To me ICM is musical in its abstraction in many images but not so in representational images. The motion of color itself brings a rhythm and musicality. I love this about this art form. It is in this series of early am images from Fenwick Island, Delaware I am presenting my expression of the musicality of the sea by motion, abstraction, repetition and motion of colors, lines and shapes from the same spot on many different days and times.
“I know that to paint the sea really well, you need to look at it every hour of every day in the same place so that you can understand its way.’ -Claude Monet
Specific Feedback
All feed back appreciated. Wondering if the musicality quality resonates with you, may just be my perception.

This is a pretty spectacular image @Mario_Cornacchione. I tend to look at photography a bit too literally so I can’t say musically it resonates with me? For me tranquility and a bit mystery come to mind looking at this image. Well done!!!
I think you have done particularly well here. The exposure was long enough to smooth out rapid changes in the waves but not long enough to remove the wave shadows and overall shape, like an oily sea. The pieces that stand out for me is the bright piece of sand mid foreground, then the circle of light mid middle ground and then the redish cloud (smog?) on the horizon and then up to the sky. Plenty to look at and plenty to dream about. I agree with the previous, leave it alone, it is wonderful as is.
I love the flow of this image and the colors, Marlo. That glow at the interface of wave and beach is really cool, though I might tone it down just a trifle in the brightest area as it tends to lock my eye on it.
Must comment now as we’re headed out the door and won’t be back until the 4th.
Love this ICM! I’m reminded of a quote from Forest Gump that I’ve used before, " …I couldn’t tell where heaven stopped and the Earth began.” I’m seeing that here - the motion has blurred the difference between the sea and the sky, and the shore for that matter. In fact, that bright area in the lower center could very well be the sun peeking thru the clouds… but then, it’s on the shore… or is it?
There is a calming mystery to this; close enough to be recognized as a “seascape,” yet enough motion/blur to bring reality in to question.
I concur with most all of the comments and observations, including Keith’s feeling of getting “musicality” out of images - but I’m learning and the idea/concept does resonate with me.
I also agree with Dennis in toning down that very bright area. As I just mentioned, I almost am confusing it with the sun, yet there is no corresponding light in the “sky”. The glow almost makes the surf look like it’s on fire! But then again, maybe that’s the point, and part of the mystery.
