Fireworks over Boston Harbor

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

It was a nearly perfect night to be out at the Hyatt Logan Airport and take in the fireworks. There was very little wind, and what there was headed up the harbor and kept the smoke away from us, and it was almost perfectly clear. We even saw some stars peaking out as the show began.

Specific Feedback

I would like composition and feedback on colour balance and tones as well as anything else. As I have gotten older, my ability to adjust colours seems to have become more impared (may be due to my profession) so I find it harder to tell when I have a colour cast.

Technical Details

Canon R5, Raw, Canon EF 24-105 f/4 with adapter, f/7.1 and 2.0 sec at ISO 400. Initial adjustments done in LR then brought into PS. TK actions used for dodging and burning in the city and contrast overall as well as spot adjusting colors.

Wow! Hali. This is wonderful. Nice capture of the moment, with the right aperture and shutter speed. Love the light on the water and the lights in the skyscrapers. Boston is an amazing city.

@HaliJ_Sowle What a great shot. Everything is spot on. I really like fireworks, but my photographic attempts have been disappointing. Very nice.

Awesome image Hali. Beautifully done.
